Hmm it sure sounds like the same role. The role would be with the supplier right?Originally posted by TykeMerc View PostSame role that was discussed with me from the sounds of it.
Assuming it is the same role, the rate they were offering is laughable for the job they need doing.

what role are you going for?Originally posted by Peter Loew View PostReally? What rate did they quote you?
I was offered 400 per day but I have gone back to them with 450 (which was my original asking price but the agent talked me down) cause it costs a fortune to get there.

£400 a day I offered several options including £400 a day if home based plus expenses for meetings but no go.Originally posted by Peter Loew View PostReally? What rate did they quote you?

Milton Keynes is a long way south from my home and I'd have to participate in the Monday and Friday M1 horror story so it's simply not enough to attract me.

Sounds about right. If only I took the Antivirus job with the FCO. *sigh*Originally posted by Peter Loew View PostYeah I got conned on the first taxi ride but their preferred taxi is Raffles, the dodgy ones are Hackney.
I live in central London and driving will be a pain.

Very isolated. Taxi fare into FCO cost me about £16 and their preferred Taxi provider fare cost me £8. I can't remember the name of the preferred Taxi firm off hand, but if you ask the agency to find out, I'm sure they will give you the details. I would probably recommend driving up to Hanslope Park, if you can.
Word of warning, you may have to go through DV clearance to get the job, if you don't already know. Also, you will have to put your Mobile phone in one of those pesky locker things.

Was once interviewed in MK.
The MD didn't sell MK to me at all....
"If you've a family you won't want to live here as it's the drugs capital of Europe"
I politely declined.
Mind, that was 10 years back! It may have changed.

I worked there for 3+ years for the FCO and it was a great contract - that was around 8 years ago.
The work was interesting, the people friendly, the canteen was ok :-).
I'd work there again anytime.

Its easily been 10+ years since I was in there, so my opinion on whats its like is very likely worthless. Just wanted to check I had the right place, I saw the name and a faint bell went off in the back of my mind.Originally posted by Peter Loew View PostIt is. The only way to get there from MKC Station is a taxi ride through b-roads!
