Thanks for your thoughts guys. Just for the record, it's been cold here too for the last week or so but only a couple more months & it'll be warm enough for the beach again.

The rate I'm on is derisory really (290 euros / day), but I took it on because it offered 1 year's security. It would be nice to be earning a bit more as by the time I've paid all my bills in the uk & here I'm just about breaking even - though it's been getting better as the Pound plummets against the Euro!

WHS. I think 2009 is going to be very unpredictable. Enjoy the Spanish weather while you have the chance.

Look for contracts in March / April and just hand in the notice if you find that there is plenty of interest. Otherwise, stick it out til June.

When to quit current contract

I'm currently on a 12 month gig in Spain that is due to finish in June with no chance of renewal. I'm wondering whether it would be better to quit in March / April when things may have picked up a bit and look for a new contract then rather than seeing it through to June / July when things may be very quiet. I could be forfeiting 3 months money on one hand but on the other I could be missing the best chance of getting a new contract next year. It's a gamble either way, anyone got any advice?
