Lots of freebie Co setup options and it only takes a few days if the accountant is on the ball ( the often pushed here Nixon Williams are OK ). If its a freebie they will make you commit to using them for 1 year which you'll need anyway for Co accounts etc etc. Quite a few Co's charge only £50odd a month = £700 a year all in with Co formation.

    Ask for Darren Upton.

They will create a new company for you FREE and monthly charges are very competitive.

Quay Accountancy, they charge £180 plus vat for the task and their fees thereafter are £55 per month plus vat to do your accounting, adverts on this site, see the front page right hand ads/menu. Now I'm going to get flamed for spending this much...

Dude, there's no magic "specialist" who can make you outside IR35. Either you are a diguised employee or you aint.

The Inland Revenue don't care what's in your contract, they look at the relationship between yourself and the client. ie. What would the picture look like if there was no Agent or Ltd Company involved in this. Having an IR35 friendly contract doesn't mean you will be outside IR35.

And if you've already agreed a rate while assuming you can find a specialist who'll "make" you outside IR35, then I suspect you'll be eating potatoes more often than caviar this winter...

In principle I agree with threaded, but ISTM that the reason they need an emergency contract is because you don't yet have a limited company.

You don't need anything from the agency to go out and form the company, but without that company they can't send *it* a final contract.

If you want to go the Limited route, you have to trust that the contract really does exist and form the company so that the paperwork can be issued in the company name.

Lovage: What is this "emergency contract" thing, sounds like bullsh1t. If they can draw up an "emergency contract", they can draw up a proper contract.

Many contracts that I start on short notice are verbal initially and then a proper written one comes along within a few hours.

It is highly unlikely that the agent does not already have a contract with the client, they are too frightened of not being paid for that ...

Personally if an agent started going off like that I'd walk away, life is much too short for such messing about.

    Newbie lost....

    Hi,

Just got my first contract.... Well kind of - They have drawn up an emergency contract for the first week to "Ensure they get me in". The contract should be about 8 months but they will send me it later. I have 4 weeks before I start. Its all a complete new world. They have a 7 day notice on me (is this normal - seems kind of short to me?).

I asked for an IR35 Friendly contract and the agent said it wasn't up to them???

I have the contract they have sent me - can anyone recommend a good specialist ensuring I an out of IR35?

I need to setup eveything! Want to have ltd we me as the dir and my partner as the Sec. What do I need to ensure gets done?

    Many thanks...
