Hello

I just got the contract for a gig starting tomorrow, one of the clauses in the contract says

“The employment Business may set off, deduct, withhold or recover appropriate sums from payments due to the contractor where the employment business has suffered loss for which the Contractor is liable, or where the Employment Business has made any payments which is not properly due to the contractor”

Haven’t seen such a close in my last 3 contracts (I have only been contracting since 9 months) Now what or who determines if a “Contractor is liable”? If I give my 2 week notice and Agency subsequently losses business of the client, does that mean contractor is liable?

Thanks
