Deffo a phishing trip.
Beware agent's ploy when the market is bad. They try and sell 'training' courses to make you more marketable. Supposedly.
Trouble is, when you've done the course and got the certificate, the agents will tell you, you must have at least 12 months 'commercial' experience using the new skill you've forked out over a grand on (possibly two).
Another wheeze is to tell you when you phone about that role on jobswerve, that if you are on the bench, they will only submit you for any new roles because clients only want contractors who are currently employed in a role.
I kid you not! These were very common back in 2001 - 02 when the market was bad.

Who knows - Have had loads of calls like that only to find a few days later they advertise a role for which I feel I am suited. If they had my details on the database and my skills fitted the job spec. they would have contacted me.
This will end up as another ' Bloody Agents' thread I bet....

Agents & Their Database
Jusr had an email from an agent to input my details on their web portal "so they can find me a new contract".
They have sight of my CV/Skill Set, I have advised them that is chargable at £xx per hour, do you think they will bite or do you think they were fishing me?
Or am i having a bad day with the bench looming on Friday and first only interview/Business meeting this afternoon.Tags: None
