You'll find that your contract has a clause for payment stating something like they must have an invoice plus authorised timesheets in order to make payment. If this is the case, they are contractually bound to pay your invoice and at the end of the day, any supplier to this agency won't give a flying fart what their software can and can't do.

At the end of the day, they're not paying their invoices in full and on time...

We consider a normal day to be 8 hours - if we do more, we aggregate them and the day when you reach 8 hours overtime, you charge an extra day. So most weeks, I do charge 6 days for example.

This has been agreed with our manager last year and is still going, with no problem. Client happy, agency delighted (of course), and me happy too.

I've got that agreement too, works well until the agency says it can't invoice outside of its online timesheet system!!!

They are saying they cannot pay an invoice that doesn't directly relate to a working week within the contract start and end dates. So I asked the question how do they pay there contract cleaning company that cleans their offices? Do they fill in timesheets as well?

So I have 8 days owed and am fed up with these guys. They are saying they want to convert my contract to hourly to cope.

I feel a letter from solicitor coming on at end of contract and recovery effort/cost!

They will get their commission on the days so whats the problem

I make it clear in interview I look for flexible working and delivery based work. As I tend to get interviewed by those I will be working with it seems to work. 35 hours one week, 50 the next, as long as I deliver on time they seem to be happy with that.

My back would have to be against the wall to take a contract where I MUST be at my desk for 7.5 hours per day.

Must admit, I've often though of getting a rented offices for that very reason. The noise of the servers here and going stir crazy doesn't help, but hey, it's direct and minimal commuting...

Wondering what your practices were on working hours. Do you do your contracted hours each day and then go home or do some of you stay late (unpaid)?
