Just how old are you?

Truth be told I am a very young grandad! 40 in fact, my daughter of 21 years of age has just recently become the proud mummy of a lovely baby girl!

My friends of course relish the opportunity to make me feel ancient at any possible opportunity.

Ahh but we will have retired by then (I suspect we may be of a similar age!? - I recently became a grandad) and the new young upstarts coming into recruitment will find another way of making contact with the all important decision makers.

Besides our guy's don't contact managers via linked in, its just used for name gathering, they would then ring the company reception and start working their way through the list of contacts gathered rather than using the contact option on Linked In.

texting advertisements directly to people's mobile phones was once thought to be the next best thing for advertisers and marketers until too many people got fed up with receiving too many texts. The same will happen to linkedin, Spoke, Xing (good for Germans ) and all the rest. Everyone is using it to find names, and frankly those who do not probably should.

It will reach a point where people will grow tired of being contacted through linkedin and will end up either withdrawing or hiding their contact details.

Yep its really useful for that, especially the advanced search option which allows you to type in a company's name and then search for people working for that company. Our chaps use it hear quite a lot, specifically if they are looking to target a certain company or market sector.

Pretty much most companies you search on will list Test Manager, Development Manager, Head of PMO, Helpesk Manager etc.

Beware that agents scour it and the number of cold calls you get from them will increase the more detail about your experience and skills you put on there.

I also trying to get a contract or e-business opportunity from linkedin,
but no luck till now...
I think linkedin could be an opportunity to find some business partners, though
