There was a mention of two references being required for the client but I gave away nowt...I never would give that info direct to the agent. You could be right - perhaps she was just after that and hoped I'd spill my guts at the mere mention of it.

thanks all for the input. In true pimp fashion it looks like it's vaporized now anyways..

Waste of time. If you go for it at least insist on telephone interview.

Do a credit check against the company and directors to see if they are credit worthy. If you smell a rat (i.e. they start throwing theoretical scenarios), tell them that you can offer them an answer for a consultancy fee of £800 p/d (or whatever you want to charge them). See where it takes them. ;-)Originally posted by TheRefactornator View Post..I say no job spec but the agency has advised a one liner that includes C#.Net/SQL Server 2005/2008 and the fact that it's a private equity startup, so there won't be any more detail until the face to face because it's an entrepreneurial venture.
That's about it. What do we think...worth a punt or a complete waste of time?

Depends what your travel and time costs would be for going to the interview.Originally posted by TheRefactornator View Post..I say no job spec but the agency has advised a one liner that includes C#.Net/SQL Server 2005/2008 and the fact that it's a private equity startup, so there won't be any more detail until the face to face because it's an entrepreneurial venture.

Worth a punt, but be cautious about them fishing for free consultancy disguised as an interview.
