I had something similar. Client (amicably) wanted to end the contract 3 days before the scheduled end date. I was using the PCG template contracts, so worded up an early termination notice which he had to serve from his firm to my firm, made him sign it and hand it to me. Then we had it in writing that they had terminated early with less notice than the contract specified. Useful IR35 defence in future I felt.

Contract finishing a week before official end date
Can anyone advise please? I have been told this morning that my contract will be finishing next Friday 30th of may. However my contract states 6th of June. This is the first time this has happend and I know its the nature of being a contractor. Is there anything I can do?
I assume because I have been told this morning I've been given just over a weeks notice on the clients part? he also told me that his purchase orders have always only had me up till the 30th of May.
any help appreciatedTags: None
