provide first line support for one of the world’s largest multi-national companies. Essentially the role is to join a small team supporting a mix of IBM and Dell Intel servers plus a small group of Sun/Solaris servers. The requirement is to provide first and second line support to the customer for a mix of Linux servers supporting a variety of applications. The expectation is that operating systems errors will be diagnosed and corrected by the systems engineer, application faults will be passed onto the relevant application support team and hardware faults will be diagnosed and passed back to the relevant hardware maintainer. It is likely that you are already providing system admin support in an operational Linux environment.
