Mine tend to go more like 'please please please please call us as soon as you're looking again and you're willing to work for 60% of the market rate for your skills and experience'.

Which makes it all the more satisfying that I've just got a 6 month extension with a 50% rate rise.

i'm still getting 2 or 3 calls a day from agencies, they seem to have stopped fishing as well. Conversations generally go:

Have to say I was looking for a new gig recently, and the majority of the agents who called me about work I hadn't applied for, had got my details off Monster.

Jobsite also seems to be a place they trawl for CV's.

I only get permie calls from Monster

Worse, they are permie calls for consultancies

I have recently agreed to an extension (not signed yet), but it was mainly based on the 'devil you know' factor. The commute here is a pain, and I need a holiday.. but I am enetering the make hay while the sun shines pahse' .. makes me feel more confident about next year, if I have squirreled some nuts away.

Right, I'm an Infrastructure architect/Sysadmin/Consultant. Although at the moment my customer doesn't have any UNIX kit (which they hired me to look after) so I'm putting removable hard disks in HP workstations.

Because I don't work for *3/hour ???

Surprisingly they don't pay that anymore. My friend went there got paid more than his UK salary and house, car with driver !!! On the down side he has put on so much weight that he ain't going to lose it all. Last year 32000 UK expats went to India.

I work on upgrades to banks core systems for lower tier 1 banks down to tier n on the i5.

Things are not looking too rosy at the moment. I might have to go back to development.
