if you want model similar to mobile phones then you will need to provide equivalent coverage, somehow I doubt you will be able to make it Even if you start making some good progress, you will be slaughtered by Tier 1 mobile companies who already have masts, network connectivity, CS, customers etc. One inhibiting factor is that mobile companies over-invested in 3G and now have to get some revenues -- killing 3G with cheap wifi is something they loath to think.

Charging model through monthly fee same as a mobile phone contract.

high capital expenditure with low prospects of breaking even any time soon (2-3 years): as usual exception could be in some really good spots.

This weeks microscope has an artivert in it on another us wireless equipment provider launching here.

kit is now cheap, broadband means easy remote support

how do you charge though ? If they want to make it freely available no problem -but I dont know how you would set it up to charge for use either by trasffic or time.

Kitting out public places and wherever with wireless networks and internet connectivity....does anyone here do it already or done it?
