I got contacted a few weeks ago about a contract involving a helicopter guidance system written by an ex-pilot. It sounded interesting, being as I'm slightly into helicopters, but the money wasn't good enough so didn't get to find out the details.

Yes, try anything linux and your chances will be far stronger. The reason is reliability. Anything with the MS logo is just not used for operational purposes, too un-stable. I'm saying nothing more.

My last client! For them experience counts more than qualification. Really interesting work though.

I worked for BAA last year, but then that spanish outfit bought them out and projects got cancelled.

Last I heard they want to lay off a few thousand people, so now might not be the right time.

KLM in the Netherlands used to employ a lot of IT Contractors in the past, if you would be OK working away from the UK

What area of IT are you in?

started a topic Anyone work in the Aviation sector?

Anyone work in the Aviation sector?

I am a fan of all things aviation, and with 7 years in IT now behind me have struggled to find a single position being offered with an aviation related firm. Actually, I lie. There was one but they never got back to me despite me chasing for 6 months!

Anyway, just interested to find out if anyone knows where I should go looking for IT jobs in this specific industry?

    Thanks
Working...
