Hi All,
Hoping you can advise me on a request from a previous employer to do some short term consultancy on a performance problem (I'm a permie but my current employer doesn't mind me taking some time off for this).
But this isn't a standard "time & materials" type contract - I guess I'd have to do something like charge a day rate for a couple of days to make an initial assessment (this isn't a system I worked on when I was with the former employer) and then tell them how much more I'd charge to fix it (assuming I can). I also assume I'd have to define "how much faster" I'm planning to make it.
This all sounds like quite a convoluted process for something that's likely to net me less than a week's work.
Is there a better approach and is there an advice on creating a contract of this nature (I assume doing so would be my responsibility as a consultant) that wouldn't cost me much more than I'd likely to make from it!
Finally, would an umberella company be interested in a single 1-week (-ish, possibly) contract - I'm not planning to give up the day job.
Thanks!
