Originally posted by NickRAs has already been said, Darren, you should talk to the recruitment agents. 1. you need a good relationship with a small number of agents so that they will think of you when they get a new role.
2. they can tell you how the market is and whether you need to broaden your search or just be patient
How long have you been actively looking this time?
My main agency contact was just telling me that there was a bad dip in April but it has recovered now. Maybe there is just a time lag you need to rideout.
In the 5 years I've been contracting the worst time was 2004 but it doesn't seem too bad now except for a few weeks now and then.
All my experience is around Telecom side, looks to be a dip around telecom openings now. I did broaden my search by area, but still sticking to Contrcat jobs only. I talked few agencies to get in to Financial domain, but they want prior experience.. !!
Lets see how things moving in next few weeks.

Ah, that's the problem !
You may find you have a different response if you use a Page 3 Resume.

Also I could read in from net that ISEB foundation have more value & no need to have ISEB & ITIL foundation certifications together..!!
Foundation is a level of expertise. For example, I have ITIL Red Badge which is the highest ITIL qualification. That is managed and the exam is conducted by the Industry Standards Examination Board (ISEB). There is also a Foundation level in ITIL, as there is in PRINCE 2.
ISEB run a number of qualification schemes in areas such as ITSM, PM, Security, Infrastructure etc.

Don't forget if you're serious about being a test manager you'll need to take up smoking...
...where else will you get all those "backs of fag packets" that are an essential tool of the role.
