I am with AMS too, paid weekly regular as clockwork (30 day terms apply). Been with them for nearly 3 months and following the usual call a couple of weeks in as to "how's it going", no more contact from the pimp - so pretty normal there too. No complaints about them.

Originally posted by IDBAt the time I had a contract with AMS I was working through an umbrella, so the IR35 part wasn't of real concern.
However the problems that all of us on that particular project experienced were:
1) Had 5 different agents/points of contact during the course of the 12 month project.
2) Weird payment terms which were the Monday following 30 days following the authorisation deadline.
3) The authorisation deadline was 10am on a Monday morning. If client authorisers were stuck in traffic, ill, called into a meeting, etc, etc then authorisation deadlines were missed.
4) AMS wrongly sent out termination notices to the entire project, then had to retract them. Caused some discomfort for the whole team and the client!
Because of 2 & 3, it was 7 weeks from the start of the contract before AMS paid up.... Then there were frequent screw ups with the client's electronic time keeping system (which incidently was owned, operated and managed by AMS) which caused payments to be witheld for 7/8 weeks after authorisation... They always did pay up, but they were totally inflexible and dragged their feet, even when they or their systems were to blame.

I'm with them at the moment and they've been fine. 30 day payment terms so you wait a month for the first payment and then it's weekly (assuming you invoice weekly). Only one 'lost' timesheet and that was sorted straight away.
No problem with the contract looked quite IR35 friendly too, MOO etc.....

Alexander Mann contract
Hi,
Have read all of the posts telling me to stay well clear of AMS but hey ho I need the money.
Has anyone had their contract with AMS checked for inside / outside IR35 status with QDOS or similar?
Working for a large telco if that helps
Appreciate any advice.
Cheers,
