Cheers BB, must engage my "contractor brain". Not having been a contractor for too long im still getting used to it all.

even using the term 'taking time off' makes you sound like a disguised employee...
Get your mindset right first.

I am currently on a 3 month contract that I know is going to be extended. My contract ends Jun 8th and from the 9th-16th me and the missus want to go on holiday (Vegas Baby...). So ill just say, "I will extend, but taking a week off first". Has anyone else done this??

No, but it's pretty common. I will be next time, and as my contract ends on the end of may bank holiday, I'll get a week off for the price of 4 days.
