Average rates / Agent's cut ?

When you read 30/per hour at jobserve , is this inclusive ot exclusive of agent's cut ?

Most of the work that fits me ( MS servers work) goes 20 - 40GBP per hour at jobserve. However, I read posts , here, like: " For 470/Day I am even considering a work in London".

So is 30 - 40 GBP that bad for London ?

fot 470 pd I'd work in London too. But the rates for what I do don't vary much by location. 35 ph +- a bit is what my skills command and that is what I get offered wherever the job is (unless it's an S3 agency and then they offer 28).

The rate depends on what you want. I would consider no less than £350/day for london work as I have to finance somewhere to live there and when I am back home. It also have to have the flexability to allow me to get "home" for 7pm 3 nights of the week as I have commitments that I cannot get out of.

Thats the official answer anyway...I didn't do any of that! I just jumped straight in, both feet first, and it worked out fine.

You'll only get the propper advice on this board, but sometimes you just need a bit of balls and the ability to wing it a bit.

Best of luck though - we'll all be here expecting our free beers if it goes great (or to support you if it all goes tits up)

Most of us here operate as a Ltd company, hence the agreement is between our Ltd company and the employment agency...

to find out as much information as you can before signing, its important to do so - also its important to have the contract reviewed for tax/legal reasons before you sign it.

Exclusive. If an agency is quoting £30, it means that the agent will be charing the client something like £36 and then giving you £30.
