I've been advised (by SJD) that multiple contracts means nothing when it comes to IR35. Each contract will be taken on its own merit.
You are spreading the risk. If they have to fight you twice to get all your income caught, then maybe they're less likely to bother. Maybe.
I agree with Mr Lizard. If it's as and when required on both, then that looks good, but if it's always Mon-Wed on one and Thu-Fri on the other then that looks bad.
Well I reckon that if you had contracts to do 2 days here and 3 days there, but in both cases you were free to choose which days you did each week, then that would be an indication that you are in control of how the deliverables get met, and that you are working in a non-employment-like way.

I am about to embark on doing 3 days in my current contract and 2 days in a new one and then when my current one runs out in March, keep the new one on fulltime till October. Does multiple projects/clients keep me safer from IR35. The new contract is with a place I used to work as a permie (although they have been bought out sinece and are a different company name now). After reading the other post this shouldn't matter should it?
Multiple clients is a pointer, but eacch contract will be considered on it's own merit.
The usual danger zone of going back is a Friday to Monday switch with your ex employer. Sounds like you are well outside that.
