Make sure they get your P45 right, leaving date etc and make sure you have all your £ out before pressing the P45 button. Dont think you should worry about your P60, Im pretty sure your employer at the end of the tax year ie your ltd will generate that. GIANT have to provide the figures and a P45 Im pretty sure its against the law for them to withhold it, if they do get your accountant to chase them.
Yeah i did it this way too, no problems. The figures on my P45 were WAY out though, which I hope gets sorted at some point. Passed the relevant parts to my accountant after starting up my ltd co and they said it should be ok... just hope that doesn't bite me in the ass later...

    MobileCheese,

You mentioned that after clicking the P45, you were no longer the user.. Does it mean that Giant did not give you access to your portal until you received all your documents? Were you not able to login to their site after clicking P45? I thought they would be providing access to the site to enable us to print out our data, whenever we needed.
Make sure you get every bit of paper work printed off the portal before you press the P45 button. By pressing its meant to stop you accessing the portal straight away, but in reality I could still access it upto date on my P45 which was a two weeks after I pressed the P45 button, but that was a CSM screw up.. If I were you I would make sure you print out everything you need, and make sure you have all the £ out before pressing P45. Also print off the log of corraspondence you had with them this is avliable on the portal, I did, it might be useful evidence one day.

I'm not too familiar with Giant's terms but have dealt with composite companies before.

I have recently left my composite (in the last month) and started up my own Ltd.

All I did was send an email to my service company stating that as of dd/mm/yyyy I will be no longer invoicing and wish to terminate by share in the composite. Also I was specific in stating that the share should not be shut down until my last invoice was paid. They replied and confirmed the termination. Easy.

The main thing is make sure you send it to them in writing (email/letter).

I would be very surprised if the termination notice period was longer than 1 week (if in fact there is a termination notice period).

    Giant Problem

I had been one of the unfortunate contractor having had a very bad experience with Giant. Now I want to leave them.

I want to leave Giant and start my own limited company. If any one has dealt with Giant, can you please provide information on whether they have any tie-in period after the end of the contract? I am unable to see the copy of the contract I accepted with them online.

I am being cautious because, if I let them know that I was leaving them, I am afraid that they may cause problems, and may not provide the documentation such as P60 to complete my tax return. If I want to leave, how should I approach this without getting any headaches from Giant?

Working...
