Had a couple of short stints, whilst waiting for onboarding for sc roles, one last year and one this, one guy had been onsite for 6 weeks and had not been paid they charged him 25 squid for 'early' payment. They also do not have a set pay day.
I find I spend more time on the phone to them than any other agency.

Managed to speak to them today and they should be able to change it to 7 day. Just needs to be signed off. So fingers crossed.
Thanks for the input.

That must be a new thing then because they didn't charge back then (about 6 years ago). I know some contractors that took up their offer at the start of a contract.Originally posted by Anonimouse View PostIf you want to be paid early they will charge you
They were pro-active in offering to pay early.

I was with Lorien a couple of times and both times they gave me the option of a speedy first payment before the normal monthly run if I needed it.
I was ok at the time and didn't need it but they understand the contractor market and that some people might need help to take a contract with lots of outgoings before any money comes in.

I am on 28 days(not Lorien). But they will do immediately, as long as its not too regular.
Could you ask for first payment to be immediate?

I have been offered a contract through Lorien and I am all set to accept. The question I have though is has anyone successfully negotiated them down on their pay terms. For example down from 28 day turnaround to 14? I only ask as I have been out of work for a while due to health issues and with Christmas bearing down fast the shorter pay term would be beneficial.
Thanks in advance.
Last time I was with them it was 7 days. That was 10 years ago mind.
