I contemplated joining them seeing as I have an apartment 20 mins from their site and I plan on spending more time over there but in the end I extended on my current contract where I'm on a lot more money and WFH 3 days a week. I was VERY tempted though.Originally posted by Pip in a Poke View PostThey seem to be offering a good package - £450 pd with accommodation included.
The accommodation is a purpose built apartment block to house their developers & they bus you in and out each day.
There's just a part of me that thinks this smacks of one of those Chinese compounds where they build iPods and I can't help thinking it could get pretty miserable.
Anyone had any experience of them or anyone else in the offing on their current recruitment drive?
But I see Malaga as a real opportunity for the future. The site (Spain's own Silicon Valley) on which The Workshop are based houses some 600+ companies, including some big names like Oracle, and over 16,000 employees.

I've been offered perm roles there before (not my thing) from a couple of contacts who tell me me there is no contracting market, but I fail to see how that can continue to be the case seeing as there's an increase in companies setting up software development shops over there. 600 companies are bound to have a need for temporary specialist resource and The Workshop opportunity kind of proves that.
The only issue I have really is tax, company structure, etc, and I posted a couple of threads about that already.
