The recomended way of working in Germany is as a local freelancer (assuming that your employer will allow you to do this - some wont).
That's best as in: most cash in your pocket for a 100% legit solution. You can get more cash in your pocket, but with risks attached.
To do this you'll need a local accountant,

Recommend a good agency/accountant
Can anyone recommend a good accountant firm as I am going from full time employed to contract in germany and need someone to organise my german taxes. I have tried globalk but they have been promising to send me info for the last 3 weeks but nothing has arrived.
