He was the guy who allowed the run up to the financial crisis to happen, now he's playing the hero for saving RBS but he allowed it to happen under his watch in the first place. Got respect for Alistair Darling, but Brown is a complete idiot

I thought that was Gordon Brown? Didn't he save the world too?Originally posted by Eirikur View PostYes from the man who pulled the UK out of the deepest financial crisis in recent history

Yes from the man who pulled the UK out of the deepest financial crisis in recent history and whose predictions are all turning out to be correct.Originally posted by Yorkie62 View PostFrom the man (George Osborne) who promised us we would need emergency budget to avoid financial Armageddon if we voted to leave in 2016.
A reduction in house prices by more than 18% would be no bad thing. The UK housing market is over priced.
BTW I've always said the only good thing from Brexit are falling house prices and I've postponed buying another house for that reason.

How about a depression? It is the only thing that narrows the gap between rich and poor.Originally posted by Yorkie62 View PostHow do you proposed to fix it.
Having moved in the last 14 months Stamp Duty must be the biggest obstacle to moving house. It is by far the biggest expense to be considered when moving
Or a ban on foreign ownership?
Or removal of mortgage tax relief for rental properties? Followed by extra taxes on rental income.
Or maybe we could just blame the immigrants.

A good outcome them. Re-alignment of the UK over egged property market. Long overdue. We need to get at least 50% off property prices in the South East.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostUK housing market experiences new year chill - BBC News
