Oh God help. I agree with assguru. I need a lie down.

The reason no-one invests in new technology is because we import cheap labour aka immigrants. The sooner we get rid of all the immigrants and invest, the sooner our productivity will rise. If only we had voted to leave the EU instead of stay.....

Indeed. Although to be fair, Brexit was a relatively small part of the trigger to move.
Been contemplating it for years - twas obvious the UK is fooked - too badly managed by the political class, nothing to do with the EU.
What I want to see now is Bozo as PM, JRM as Chancellor and Liam Fox as Home secretary.
Then the country will have got what it deserves.

Or as the Guardian spins it:

Record employment and wages rising very quickly is bad news clearly. I blame Brexit.

No investment in plant and machinery = hire more bods instead.

Which explains why productivity (which is the only thing that can make a country rich in the long run) is so poor:

started a topic Brexit affecting the economy again!

    Brexit affecting the economy again!

    https://www.theguardian.com/money/20...al-40-year-low

UK wages rise faster than expected amid lowest jobless rate in 40 years
Or as the Guardian spins it:

Falling number of EU workers in Britain compounds businesses’ recruitment woes

Record employment and wages rising very quickly is bad news clearly. I blame Brexit.
