If you are providing services to another business, the supply will be outside the scope of UK VAT. The reason for this is because the place of supply is where the customer belongs, i.e. the non EU country.
I hope this helps.

Doesn't the OP need to register on HMRC's EC Sales List?
I have signed a contract with a company outside the EU to provide professional services. I am about to invoice for the first time and am wondering if I need to charge VAT given the companies location.
Does anyone have experience of this? The HMRC website refers to a lot of supporting evidence (such as freight details) for zero rate vat but its not applicable to me since I am not providing physical goods.
Thanks in advance
