The whole point of an umbrella is that you are classed as an employee, you in fact become an employee of that umbrella company. So legally they have to provide provision to pay you holiday pay. But they cannot magic it out of thin air, so the only way to do it is to take a portion of your income and hold it back for when you want to have your two weeks in Bognor Regis.

Why would you want them to hold money back and gain interest in their bank account? It's better off in your pocket, is it not?

K&B accounting umbrella
I am looking to finish my current umbrella (they are too big for my taste and had some big technical problems lately). I found trough this web site the link to K&B in Kent.
Can anyone give me some opinions or has any experience (good and bad) to share?
I see that they retain 7.7% for holiday pay, parasol don't do this but is this legal requirement or just a directive?Tags: None
