WSPS. Changing the address and any other details at companies house should be painless, simple and easy. No accountant should be making changes to companies details difficult. If you every change accountants, your new ones should be able to change it with ease anyway, once they have the webfiling codes in place.

I changed my accountants last year and they were the registered office. Simple, painless and easy to do. Bear in mind that all the info they hold is yours so they can't make it hard for you to move. I told them the date I wanted to move, paid up to that date and went in to collect everything they had of mine.

If your accountant registers your company address at his office it means you will find it virtually impossible to change accountants. If I was an accountant I would do this for free too!

I think privacy is the main reason many people use their accountant's address, it saves anyone being able to look up the director's home address (assuming they use the accountant as their service address too).

I think some people are over-egging the amount of that you'll get from HMRC and Co House. Basically, it's next to nothing. We encourage our clients to have registered office address as their home or office address to avoid confusion. For those where we do use our office address, it's just a couple of items from HMRC each year - being a notice to complete the CT return and then the CT demand. Nothing else at all. Companies House can now send email reminders, for which we've signed up all clients, so no post at all from Co House. So that's 2 items per year - hardly piles! For Payroll and VAT, HMRC already ask for the "trading address" and won't, for example, allow an accountants address for VAT registration.
For company formations, we get a couple of items of junk mail. Hardly a major problem!
In fact, we find it easier for clients to use their own addresses these days. Otherwise, if we get the CT demand, we have to forward it to them. Likewise if an agency, or bank, insurance company or whoever wrongly pick our address from Co House rather than the clients' own address, again, we have to foward it on. There's far more post from the accountant to client than from client to accountant, so it makes sense for the client to receive it directly. It also avoids confusion as people often ask for explanations as to why the reg office address is different to the trading/home address.
Of course, if client has a reason for using our address as reg office, then that's fine, we'll do that at no charge, but we tell them the facts, pros and cons, and let them make their own decision.
Times have changed - there was a time when it was probably better to use an accountants office, but these days with more and more email usage, it hardly matters.
But to the OP, no it's not a problem.

Good to find out about all the different types of address!!! I'm going to need to find an accountant that will allow me to use their registered address as I'm not allowed to have a business registered here due to my lease!

As others have said, it's fine to do this. There are three addresses you need to be aware of:
Trading address - this is your home address, and should never be your accountant. HMRC will usually use this address.
Registered Office - this is your company official address, where the junk mail goes along with Companies House reminders, and can be your accountants address. Most accountants won't charge, but check. You'll need to put this address on your company letterheads etc.
Service address - this is the directors 'home' address as shown publicly at Companies House. If anyone searches for you personally this is the address they find, and if you have your registered office address at your accountant's then it makes sense to use them as your service address too. This saves more junk mail, plus anyone ever being able to find your personal address on public record (I believe it was set up with animal testers in mind, otherwise people could get access to their home address which was a security issue).

Mine is with In-Touch for this very reason...
Just make sure you inform the agent that ALL communication including remittance advice, contracts etc be sent to your home address. Other wise you'll find these ending up at your accountant's office.
HMRC used to send all info to both you and your accountant but recently, due to cost cutting measures, they'll only send documents to one address. Its therefore important that even if your accountant is your registered office address, if you get any correspondence from HMRC, YOU forward it to your accountant for them to deal with and do not assume they have been notified.

I am new to IT Contracting, just started and found an accountant to form my limited company, he has registered but when I checked the address in companieshouse website, it shows my accountant office address instead of my home address (I dont have any office premisis) then I called him to verify this but he told that thats not a problem and companieshouse and HMRC are expecting the registered office address also he mentioned that my home address is the head office address,
Is this ok?
