No, you don't need the accounts signed off by an accountant (unless you needed an audit).
Sometimes banks will request a registered accountant signs reference letters when you're applying for a mortgage or similar.

Do I actually need an accountant?!
So far I have been doing my own books monthly, sorting out PAYE, VAT Returns, Mileage and Expenses (admittedly with a bit of help from here when I have had questions) I have just done the annual return which was easy enough so that just leaves the end of year accounts.
I have been using DIY Tax Accounting Software which seems to have given me everything I need, so if I was going to an accountant it would be more of a sanity check of what I have been doing, my question is does the accounts need to be certified by a qualified accountant?Tags: None
