HMRC late tax payment?

I have today received a letter from HMRC (dated 8th July!) - saying that I have missed the payment deadline for my self assessment tax payment.

I was under the impression that this was not due until 31st July and I have already arranged the payment via my internet banking.

Has anyone else received a similar letter?

I guess I cannot call them until Monday
