Just got a email from Clearsky saying I need to pay them £14 into their account so they can submit my Annual Return to Companies House. If I don't I might be struck of the register.

Is this true? Should I make the payment? Seems like phishing to me but its come from the exact same email address as all my other communications from Clearsky?
Hi there, I am the PR Manager for ClearSky and the email is genuine.

This is a fee charged by Companies House which we collect on behalf our clients and pass on. The email was a reminder that it needs to be done.

If you have any other questions you can let me know or contact your personal accountant.

    Hope that helps.

    Steven

You got a good deal. Have a look at Proposed Price List April 2011 for the costs of filing the returns. If I were you, I would be happy with £14 for a submission. If you think it's phishing, pick up the dog and bone and give them a call and ask them if they had sent the email.

The fee was reduced to £14 from April 2011, the fee for filing the annual return manually was increased - obviously to encourage the use of online filing.
