I had the same thing, I was registered for VAT but there was no option to enrol for SA as an individual.

I rang them and they said I had to register for it separately so just click back and register afresh.

I hadn't done an SA for the last 2 years as I just didn't realise I was supposed to, the good news was I had overpaid for 2007-2008 so I got a repayment of over £300.

Have you registered for online SA? If yes, then you just log in your account. Clink on view your accounts, where you can find tax liability, interest, penalty etc.

Where on the HMRC site is the section which tells you

Where on the HMRC site is the section which tells you your current 'self asessment' income tax liability ?

All I can see is the option to sign up for .. 'Self Assessment (SA) for Trusts and Self Assessment for Partnerships' and that doesn't apply to me as I'm an individual.

Could it be that my accountant has done this on my behalf and therefore the option is invisible to me ?
