28000 people under enquiry

A recent Freedom of Information request to HMRC has revealed that they currently have approximately 28000 persons with enquiries open under Code of Practice 8. (These are cases which do not involve suspected fraud.)

I bet a substantial percentage of these relate to IR35 avoidance schemes.

And, I bet HMRC would just love some more retrospective legislation like BN66 to clear this backlog.
