You have not had many replies to your post so I thought I would try and help out !
You may want to try ukbusinessforums as you may have more success with responses or accountingweb.co.uk
If you are a Professional Contractor or Freelancer then you may want to make sure that your local accountant has the specialist knowledge needed to support you, quite often they really do not.
Each individual client has their own needs, but you may find using something like www.freeagentcentral.com which we recommend to our clients means that you can work with an accountant anywhere, and share the information on actual transactions, and conversations on the phone lead to further understanding.
There is a list of accountants on there that know and undersatnd FreeAgent and some also include the application in their fees, some of which start at £35 a month- there is one accountant in Edinburgh which maybe the closest ! ( I know its not that close but the best I could do with the info I have got !)

Glasgow Accountant
Hi all, have been through the mill with SJD and another big Glasgow company. Am needing someone else - want a smaller outfit that I can get more personal service with and not feeling I am bothering them, and would be happy to pay more for this.
Want someone I can go and see not deal with on phone, in or about Glasgow. Anyone got any good recommendations? Must be approachable and helpful.
