I'm with NatWest and they are pretty good, and free. Online access is a must of course

I found that I had to wait 3 days before the money went from my HSBC Business Account to my Alliance & Leicester Account, despite both accounts being part of the FPS scheme.

But as someone has already suggested, look at HSBC. It may be worth moving your personal account to them as well. That way, you get paid on the same day as it leaves your business account.

If you want details of an account manager, let me know via PM and I will refer you to someone.

If you are not bothered about interest, HSBC do a fee free bank account for businesses turning over less than 500k.

I think a lot of people recommend Abbey, but I'm not with them. I use LloydsTSB and they have been good so far. Admittedly, I can only talk about my experience but I've been with em nigh on 40 years and they haven't tried to screw me yet.
