-Advertising the company - what's the best form - do companies look in the yellow pages for software developers?

No they dont. They look to agencies. Why spend the money advertising if it isnt going to gain you anything. If the revenue argue, then reply with the fact that as director you have to act in the interests of the company and therefore why waste money on something that will not generate revenue,.

-Proper office and equipment - the accountancy firm say the IR deem that you need to have spent £5000+ on this - I have loads of kit and still don't think I'm up to 5k yet - recommendations please.

I have - coup0le of desktops for me and cosec. Couple of laptops. Top of the range printer, fax, scanner, copier. Add in PDA and associated software - ,maybe a 500G external hard drive since you dont need network backups. Use your imagination.

-Proper stationery for the company (business cards etc)

-training - I'm planning on doing some marketing courses, bookkeeping courses etc alongside the IT training over the next year

Brollie to Ltd Advice (Including IR35)

After reading loads of posts on these boards, I've decided to go from brollie to going the ltd company route.

What services should I expect as "standard" from the accountant? Also, what's the going rate for a decent company? I've been quoted £80+VAT per month from SJD and have not seen any negative feedback from them?

Also, as I'm moving into the IR35 sketchy area by going ltd, what steps can I take to ensure that I'm deemed to be operating as a "normal" company would?
