I've used Brookson for a number of years and although it was tricky last year with the HMRC changes, the service is now back to how it used to be. Never really heard of Planit so you could try your luck!

I hope you get sorted anyway

I'd agree witht what Gary said to a certain extent. I appreciate that I may be biased, because I run a small-ish personal accounting firm which specialises in contractors, but I'd recommend a small-ish personal accounting firm which specialises in contractors!

2nded. Naming and shaming isnt worthwhile as it starts a flame war.

In my experience I'd recommend using a local accountant over a "specialised" a.k.a conveyor belt service. I've had nothing but bad experiences.

So far, I have had a look at Brookson & Planit. Any comments or recommendations will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you in advanced.
I doubt they'll want to setup and maintain your company for you unless you opt to pay full PAYE wages. On this basis you may wish to take an easier approach and use an 'Umbrella' company who will do all this for you. If you want to run a company yourself and take dividends as part of your company profits then you need to get a basic understanding of the company, how it operates, then instruct your accountant on your needs and desires.

You probably want to try and find a contractor specialist who can provide a personal touch. There are a few of us who lurk on this message board!

Make sure you know what you want from your accountant and remember that low fees doesn't always represent value for money.
