    MYOB Payroll Software - Free

Whilst the HMRC CD-ROM is ok, it is a bit lacking in areas, i.e. no payslips for one thing.

MYOB Payroll is a HMRC accredited payroll software package that is currently available free from www.myob.co.uk/freepayrollsoftware.

The only restriction is that it will only allow one Company and a maximum of 3 employees.

No, you get a life and try decorating! The satisfaction you get at the end of it, for years to come, makes it all worthwhile. Similarly for me, I will get a lot of satisfaction when my yearly accountancy bill is down from approx. 1200 to 400.

Anyway, back to my original point...

I was confused again - the CD-Rom helps you with your Employer end of year returns, which are the P35 and the like.

I don't think that it actually helps you with the S.A. form. I guess I'll just have to work that one out by myself.

Don't think you can retrospectively create P11s! Besides you should have your P60 for 2007/8 by now and as far as PAYE is concerned that's all you need to fill in your SA.

    Using the Employer CD-Rom

    Hi all.

I just got sent the CD-Rom from HMRC which I ordered from them. I wasn't aware of this CD last year, as I never got sent it, but it looks great and I will certainly be using it from now on.

My question is, am I still able to use it to help me prepare my tax return for 2007/2008? Obviously it currently doesn't have any figures for that year, but am I able to retrospectively insert them all now, so that it's as up to date as it would have been if I had started last year?

I hope the answer is yes...! Thanks.
