    If you've paid 12 months fees that relates (obviously) to a year. Accountants generally base their fees on the total amount of work required in a year so that includes y/e accounts and CT comps - at least thats what we do. Some firms we've taken clients from try to charge an "exit" fee but if thats not in T&C's or enagement letter take a hard line. This can p*ss the accountant they might not send the necessary paperwork to your new accountant.

    check your engagemenet letter but I guess as you ahve paid for the full twelve months , the accounts and ct returns should be completed for you

    well, i would have thought so .. i've paid for the full year so I should get all of my company documentation completed for the company year.Yet, why do i get the feeling they are going to tell me to shove it! So in other words I will have paid them the monthly fee for doing not that much really

    Accountancy work for a full year

    Hi all,

    My company year end date is 31st Jan 2008 and I plan on making this the last month I use my accountants. If I have paid for a full year 31st Jan 2008 to 31st Jan 2008 then should my accountants actually still do the CH return and CT return even though these are not due for 10 months after the year end? (After all, I've still paid for the full years fees)
