    We had to submit a copy of the VAT certificate with all invoices we were claiming back tax on.

    I think you should have also received a certificate of VAT registration. Because of the delays in processing registration, looks like you may have gotten your FRS approval before your cert...

    Collecting Vat for first time!!

    Hi,

    I recently gained approval to go onto the flat rate scheme.
    Upto now I have claimed nearly 4 months worth of invoices minus the VAT element no problem.
    I have sent a copy of the letter from the Revenue stating that I have been accepted and a vat number clearly displayed.There is even a phone number to ring them.
    The agency are saying that this is not a certificate and they are not sure if they can pay me the vat on just this letter.
    I think this is just a delaying tactic as all the info is available in this letter.
    I along with many other newbies I suspect have to pay a large proportion of this money by 31st August so time is ticking.

    Are they correct or just delaying payment??
