Just write out your invoice and add an extra box about the total with VAT next to it and enter £0.00 into this box. VAT breakdown complete, hand it over to client and ask for you wonga

  • Not VAT registered but client is asking for VAT breakdown

Greetings, just signed up today looking for some VAT advice. If the issue's been covered already then sorry, it's really hard to search for VAT related stuff on here!

My company is not VAT registered and I never mention VAT anywhere on my sales invoices. All my clients are happy with this except one, who always asks me to provide a VAT breakdown. I've always refused saying that there is no VAT to breakdown, but am I right in refusing? Or can I provide a breakdown anyway?

Working...
