best bet to while away time is Nintendo DS, about £100, then M3 DS Simply mod chip about £25, then 2GB Micro SD Card, about £13 = £140.
Then you can copy unlimited 'homebrew' games onto SD card.
Failing that, cheapest 3g deal is T-Mobile sim-only sim - £7.50/mth for sim + 75 minutes, then £7.50/mth for unlimited data. Use it in a Windows Mobile 6 phone, and can also use as a modem connected to a laptop. Best phone atm is http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=256569 (though not actually released yet)

Vodafone do the same kind of deal for the same price as well.Originally posted by ~Craig~mmm just notice I posted this in the wrong area!
T-Mobile now do an unlimited 3g card for £29 a month which seems quite reasonable.
Both have a 3GB limit on what you can download though.

I had a Vodafone one at one stage (came free with laptop) - VERY expensive to run though. I spent over £100 for the first month alone, and didn't use it that much anyway. Haven't looked at them in the past year after getting stung.

I already have a phone and don't want to go back to carrying two. I was looking at Blackberry Pearls but I don't think I could get to CUK on it or have the free allowances you get with the 3g cards.

why bother ? get a 3g phone and connect it to your laptop.Originally posted by ~Craig~I'm thinking of getting a 3g card to waste away the time on the train.
Does anyone here use them or can recommend one? They all look pretty much the same to me.
