I vote Parasol. Left them a month ago to set up LTD co but have used them for last 3 years. Very good and would go back to them if ever i need to in the future.

Surely if your an agency can you not do your own phoning around speak with the sales teams of these umbrella and get yourself on some sort of royality scheme for ever person you put there way. Then you can sell to the highest bidder !

Absolutely not.... I've just been someone that's used their services and been very impressed after being screwed about by countless other umbrellas.

I am actually about to start working through my own Ltd co as of next Monday, but that's due to a change in my needs. I've used Atlantic since February, for my current and last contract.

Various umbrella's that I've used before have screwed up CHAPS payments, messed me about, not paid on time and then tried to make me wait a week, etc, etc - in other words caused me hassle. Atlantic are the only ones really to have been exceptional in their service. I've suffered at the hands of other umbrellas in the past, as have other contractors I work alongside. I had the opportunity to recommend an umbrella I'm happy with and maybe stop people having to suffer the way I have in the past - unfortunately that means cynics amongst us get the wrong end of the stick....

SEARCH THE FORUMS. This has been done to death about a billion times, do try and use some of that grey matter that is rattling around inside your head.

I love the fact that the only other post to this thread is some random talking about an umbrella company that is not normally mentioned on these forums...

Hell there is even a couple of stickies by LisaContractorUmbrella, you'll never guess who she represents.....

I have used several (6/7) umbrella companies over the years, and can only really recommend one properly - that is Atlantic Umbrella (www.atlantic-umbrella.com).

All staff are friendly, efficient, knowledgable and flexible. They go that extra mile everytime, and nothing seems too much. If they say they'll do something, they will. I've had nothing but exceptional service from them.

They offer two schemes - a normal scheme and an "Express" scheme which means that they'll pay on receipt of timesheets authorised by the client. They also optionally offer "Atlantic Lifeguard" which adds life assurance, critical illness cover and income protection insurances.

If you call them, ask to speak to Jonathan - within a few minutes you'll understand why those of us that have used Atlantic really do recommend them.
