Not quite sure on that one myself, as it says "all employees and self-employed persons" must register, so that covers you if you're an employee of your Ltd. On the other hand it suggests you may be exempt if you're a "self-employed business person or self-employed director". Likewise if you worked through a UK umbrella, I'm not sure either.

Something like this really needs a legal opinion. But it's definately worrying (the reason I posted it here) as it proposes some quite harsh criminal penalties if you don't comply.

    For foreign employer/company:

    - prison sentence (8 days - 1 year)
    - fine (€500 - €2500 per employee, max €125,000)

Also the parts mentioning compliance with local minimum rates of pay etc.

What if your working in the country but for a UK Ltd company?

started a topic Working in Belgium.

    Working in Belgium.

Thought I'd post this here as I'd didn't even know about it myself until now.

From April 1st 2007 apparently there was a change in rules here meaning that various categories of people wishing to work in Belgium are legally required to register in advance.

    Edit:

Apparently if you fall under a category required to register in advance and do not the 'law' allows "imprisonment of the foreign employer for up to two years and a fine of €6205"
