No, I had the same last year rang the IR and asked and they said no need to declare.

Compensation Claims and SA

I'm expecting to receive an amount of money from the governments criminal injuries compensation award scheme within the next month or two and I'm wondering if I will need to declare this anywhere on for self assessment?

Any ideas? My initial guess would be no, but its always good to check!!!!
