I was in in the same situation, I didn't notice the absence of an annual reminder from Randell Dorling until 2 weeks before renewal. Thankfully I still had those strange emails from February, I noticed they came from the domain "stubbenedge.com" so we looked them up and it looks like Randell Dorling has been "absorbed" into Stubben Edge. Sure enough, when I called them (number on their website) they found our policy and were able to successfully renew it on the same terms as before; it did take a couple of calls and some emails, and they were very apologetic, citing a problem with someone mistakenly deleting something, but we got there in the end. Though not before I spent 4+ hours completing a complicated form for a different insurance broker wanting a ton of financial numbers from the past few years of our business...

tl;dr - contact Stubben Edge on their website if you are an existing Randel Dorling customer

    Cheers,

Thanks. I spotted that too at CoHo while I was digging yesterday and it certainly isn't a good look.

The plan is therefore to insure elsewhere for this year and see if/how they resurface in the meantime. Will update the thread if they do ever make contact.

Looks like their accounts are overdue:

In itself doesn't prove anything, sometimes decent companies fall behind for whatever reason. But it ain't a positive sign!

I've been with Caunce O'Hara for a long time, might be worth taking a look at them if RD don't resurface?

started a topic What's going on with Randell Dorling?

What's going on with Randell Dorling?

There were a couple of slightly suspicious emails back in February from RD saying they had a new phone number, etc. I wrote to them but received no reply but gave it little more thought.

Now it is renewal time and:
    1. I've received no renewal reminders - a marked difference from previous years.
    2. Going onto quotes.randelldorling.com last week it was unable to complete the process and directed me to contact them via the online form, which I did. So far no response.
    3. Today I've decided to call them as it's getting a bit close to expiry/renewal and have been on hold on their new number now for half an hour while being auto-told that I am first in line.
All of this smacks a bit of them going under or at the very least massively downsizing. Has anyone heard something a bit more concrete about what is going on there?

And not entirely coincidentally, are there any other recommendations for sole-trader PII?

    Thanks.
