PAYE Coding Notice and HMRC PAYE Tools
Hi,
Has anyone received PAYE Coding Notices from HMRC in recent years, either personally or to their company?
I've not had one since the 2013/14 tax year. I assumed this was normal, but researching suggests it's random whether notices are issued.
It's only become apparent this year because I'm using the HMRC PAYE Tools software for RTI and it has me as tax code 1000L and I want to pay £11,908 so it says that income tax is due. Editing the tax code requires clicking past a page stating that you have received a P6 or P45.
My HMRC personal online account shows tax code as 1257L. I'm tempted to just save a copy of that and click past the page in HMRC PAYE Tools so I can make this year's submission (I'm on the PAYE annual scheme) without triggering an income tax liability that will then need to be reclaimed.Tags: None
