Get the expense reimbursed. The payment will go on to your P11D and then you make a claim in your Tax Return.

If you use an umbrella this may be on the dispensation so no P11D entry and no need for a claim.

    Claiming travel expenses

    Hi all,

I understand that I can claim back one trip a year for myself and my family from tax.

Has anyone ever done this? When they mean claim...is it the same as sending your receipts to your accountant and then them taking the amount out of the tax you pay?

    Thanks
