Re Alternet
Expenses are basically the same whichever umbrella you use.
4% is high IMO, if you earn £1K a week then that is £2K per annum. Most other umbrellas are cheaper than that and so is running your own ltd.

Hi Louhop,
First question - 4% of what net or gross?
Must admit I use a brolly with fixed fees - a percentage is OK until you start earning big bucks - work out 4% of 6 grand and then see if it seems so reasonable
All brollies are pretty much the same so if you are happy with the figures then good luck with it

The cost is 4% but with my rate & expenses etc they seem reasonable.

You sure they are cost effective? What is the % charge?

Alternet good or bad to use for an umbrella compnay?
I'm looking to change from limited company to umbrella - Alternet seems the most cost effective one to me - but has anyone had any experience with them - good or bad!
