this is the form you need to apply for registration, 4 items on the checklist at the bottom, no mention of a contract...

Guest repliedinteresting...at the end of the doc is a checklist and one of the items required as a contract (as well as your reg number etc).
Oh well...I might just send it in without the contract and see what happens. Am I about to experience British efficiency at its best? :rollin

Registering for VAT
Lads,
Im in the process of registering my company for VAT however on the form it says to send a copy of your contract as proof that you are a business.
Naturally as a contractor Im loath to do this just in case the VAT people pass the contract on the the IR35 people.
Any work arounds? I thought I could just send my wifes contract in (she is relief teaching)???
